Setting Up: Sendoso x Eloqua

  • Updated

Sendoso and Eloqua are fully integrated so you can seamlessly trigger direct mail, handwritten notes, company swag, gift cards, eGifts, cupcakes, and more - all from within Eloqua.

Connecting Eloqua and Sendoso

Then, log in to Sendoso, navigate to the Integrations page and select Eloqua. Next, select 'Sync Eloqua':

This will ask you to log in to Eloqua and Accept Sendoso's Eloqua AppCloud:

Now Sendoso has successfully been added to your Eloqua and the confirmation page will let you know that a Custom Object has been configured.

Sendoso in Eloqua's Campaign Canvas

When you go to create a new Eloqua campaign, you'll see a Sendoso step available in the Canvas.

To add a Sendoso step, simply drag the Sendoso option onto the canvas anywhere you want:

Then double-click on the Sendoso icon to configure it, and click on the pencil edit icon:

Select the team (if you have multiple Sendoso accounts) and then select the campaign (touch) name from Sendoso.

This is a required step even if you only have one team connected.

Note that there are no automations configured, this is a required step within the Sendoso app. Click here for instructions on how to set up an Eloqua automation in Sendoso.

Now, whenever the Sendoso step is triggered the Automated Campaign will be sent.

To track shipped/delivery notifications you can review the Analytics section of Sendoso or wait for the email notifications.

Best Practices

  • With our new Eloqua Global Sync, all sends in the Sendoso platform will push into the Eloqua CDO to help with reporting. This is new functionality that wasn’t previously available with our legacy Eloqua sync.
  • When triggering a gift via Eloqua, please ensure you build the Campaign first and then create an Automation in Sendoso to trigger out of Eloqua.
  • Want the email to be sent from Eloqua? Check out our Integrated Party Links and include a Party Link in an Eloqua email that is pre-approved by criteria setup in Eloqua!

FAQs

What's the difference between the legacy Eloqua integration and Eloqua Global Sync?

The legacy integration writes send status back to a contact's External Activity record one status at a time, based on the External Asset/Activity Type mapping you set up in Sendoso. Global Sync instead creates a Custom Data Object (CDO) in Eloqua and writes back all send data to it in one sync. If you're on the legacy setup and running into writeback or reporting gaps, ask your CSM about migrating to Global Sync.

Why isn't a campaign or status update showing up in Eloqua?

This is almost always one of three things: (1) the contact Email Address doesn't match a record in Eloqua, so there's nothing to attach the activity to, or (2) the send hasn't reached a status that triggers writeback yet. There's no manual button to re-push a single failed update, so check these two first.

My reporting used to work and now the filters don't match — what changed?

If your campaign was built in the legacy campaign builder, it uses the legacy status set. Sendoso's April 2026 status rollout introduced new unified statuses that legacy-builder campaigns won't automatically pick up. Check your reporting filters to ensure you are reporting off the new gift statuses linked in the article above.
