International Sending Considerations and Best Practices

  • Updated

If you’re planning on sending gifts from one of our Sending Fulfillment Centers (SFCs) to another country or region, please take a moment to review the information in this article.

To ensure a smooth shipping process, we encourage you to take each of the following points into consideration before submitting an international Send.

We recommend viewing the country restrictions for each SFC before initiating an international send.

Sendoso does not have control over each country’s customs processes. We can only provide advice before a shipment goes through customs to help facilitate a smooth shipping journey. For more detailed information, we encourage you to consult the destination country’s customs laws or use a customs agent or broker.

What is International Sending?

International Sending consists of items being shipped from one of our SFCs to another country where the shipment will be subject to customs examination. We have SFCs in the following locations:

  • Phoenix, USA
  • Ingleburn, AU
  • Peterborough, UK
  • EU, IRE

International Sending means shipping from one of the above SFCs to a destination not located in the SFC’s country. For example, Shipping from Phoenix to London would be international. However, shipping from Ireland to Barcelona would NOT be international as Ireland and Spain are both EU countries.

Shipping from the UK to any EU country is considered international sending as the UK is no longer a part of the EU.

Bulk Sending

Bulk Sending is anything over an item count of 15 or of a value above $100. Due to certain challenges, we cannot navigate customs with bulk sending to the following regions:

  • Asia
  • India
  • Africa
  • South America

If you need to send 15+ items to any of these continents, we recommend that you send several, smaller shipments.

Generally, we recommend only sending bulk orders to the following regions:

Region of origin (SFC) Destination(s)
Phoenix, USA USA and Canada addresses
EU, IRE EU Countries only
Peterborough, UK UK addresses
Ingleburn, AU AU addresses

Prohibited Items

Here is a list of items that can not be shipped internationally due to customs:

  • Alcohol
  • Tobacco
  • Plants, Flowers, or Seeds
  • Perishable food items
  • Medical devices
  • Oversized items over 50 pounds and/or items valued over $USD 100
  • Items containing lithium batteries*

Lithium Batteries

Please be advised that lithium batteries are contained in many common items. For example, Airtags, or Tile trackers contain lithium batteries. Powerbanks, consoles, and Bluetooth speakers also contain lithium batteries.

Here are some important things to keep in mind when shipping items with lithium batteries:

  • Items containing lithium batteries cannot be shipped by air - only ground
  • Ground shipments have to have less than 12 items containing lithium batteries inside
