Customizing the Recipient Experience

If you’ve always wanted to add a more personal touch to your campaigns, our new recipient experience features in the Customization Center are a perfect way to do just that!

New customization options for recipient emails and landing pages will enable your senders to:

  • Add a face to the name with new profile pictures on email signatures
  • Add more background design and brand colors
  • Include a landing page note from the sender
  • Make the gift selection and redemption experience easier for recipients

This article will go through what’s new with the Customization Center and how to set you and your senders up for success with these new features.

Adding a Profile Picture

If you’d like to add your profile picture to your signature for that extra level of personalization, head to your User Settings page. At the top, you’ll see a new option to add your Profile image.

Also, be sure to fill out your Job Title and then click Save at the bottom of the page!

Now, once enabled in the customization center, your picture will be included in your signature in your gift emails.

Adding a Company Logo

While you’re in your Settings, hop on over to the Account Settings tab to add your company logo. This will appear as an option to add to your themes in the Customization Center.

Now it’s time to head over to the Customization Center to create your theme.

Navigating the Theme Editor

Whether you are editing an existing theme or creating a new theme, you can navigate through the editor using the tabs at the top. 

The first two tabs on the left are where you can go to edit your theme. The five tabs on the right allow you to preview how your theme appears to the recipient.

Theme Settings

The first tab is for your Theme Settings. This is where you’ll name your theme and decide whether you want the theme to be used globally across all of your sends. Toggling this setting on will override all campaign-level settings and apply the them you’re currently working on.

You can also make this theme the default for the teams you assign it to. You’ll also select whether you’d like your team logo to appear above the text.

Under these general settings are where you apply your brand design. You can upload your banner or logo and also a background image.

The banner/logo image will appear on the recipient email, Gift selection page, Address confirmation email and the gift receipt email.

The background image will appear only on the Recipient selection experience. You can download a template for designing the background image here.

After you’ve uploaded your logo and background image, you can choose your brand colors for text, background, primary color, and secondary color (for buttons and button text.)

Now it’s time to choose your signature style. You can choose to have a signature with the profile photo you uploaded to your settings, without a photo, or omit a signature altogether.

And finally, you can choose to insert a custom footer.

You can format the footer to your liking as well.

Previewing the Theme

Now that you’ve set your theme, you’ll want to preview each step of the recipient’s journey. The five tabs on the right will take you through each possible email or page the recipient will see once you send a gift.

Teams Assignment

Once you’ve finalized your theme, be sure to assign the theme to the teams that will use it for their sends. You can either select specific teams to assign this theme to, or allow all teams access to this theme.

Once you’re done assigning the theme, be sure to click Update at the bottom of the page!

You’ll get a confirmation that the theme has been saved!
