How do I use Test Mode?

  • Updated

Sendoso’s Test Mode feature is a great way for you and your team to learn how to use the platform and practice sending without the risk of sending any live gifts.

In this article, we'll go through the following:

Turning Test Mode On and Off

From this settings page, you will want to scroll down to the Testing Mode section:

Here you will see your Test Mode feature and the option to toggle between “Live” and “Testing Mode”. When Testing Mode is enabled, you will see a teal banner indicating that your account is in Test Mode at the top of your screen:

This banner will remain until you toggle off Testing Mode in the Settings, or click the “Turn Off Test Mode” button straight from the banner itself:

Test Mode Sending

While in Test Mode, no physical gifts will be sent. However, if Address Confirmation is enabled while testing, you will send out an Address Confirmation link if it was selected to be sent through Sendoso.

The recipient will receive the email with an inactive link, so we recommend testing with internal email addresses listed as the recipient rather than an actual prospect or contact.

Additionally, eGift emails will be sent while in Test Mode. Like the Address Confirmation links, the eGift link will not be active. This means the sender will not be charged, and the recipient will not be able to redeem the eGift.

Benefits of Test Mode Sending

The benefit of utilizing this feature is enabling you and your team to explore your sending options and the send flow itself, along with testing your custom themes or templates in both your Address Confirmation forms and eGift emails.

When sending in Test Mode, you will also receive a notification via email that your account sent something in test mode:
